Japanese lacquered small chest of drawers, decorated with peony motifs in maki-e.

The compact cabinet has a black lacquer ground with decorative scrolling floral work, combining practical drawer storage with the character of a traditional Japanese lacquer furnishing.

Dimensions recorded in the earlier Yamazakura catalogue: approximately 330 mm high × 280 mm wide × 220 mm deep.

Condition: some cracking to the lacquer is present at one corner, consistent with the earlier catalogue record and visible age/use. Please refer to the photographs for the overall surface and condition.
