Object: Japanese wakizashi, unsigned (mumei), mounted in an attractive lacquered koshirae.

The blade shows a visible hamon. The mounts include a signed tsuba with bird-form decoration, together with silver-coloured habaki and seppa as recorded in the earlier Yamazakura catalogue.

The saya is particularly decorative, with a lacquered arrow (ya) motif that gives the mounting a strong graphic character.
