Object: Japanese wakizashi in koshirae.

Blade: Mumei (unsigned), according to the existing Yamazakura catalogue record. No school or period attribution is made here without examination of the nakago and blade characteristics.

Fittings: The sword is mounted with a signed tsuba and floral-decorated fuchi-kashira. These fittings add useful individual character to an otherwise unsigned blade and merit separate study of their signatures and workmanship.

A complete mounted wakizashi suitable for further specialist study, particularly if the tang, tsuba signature and blade measurements are documented in detail.
