Object: Japanese police-service sword, catalogued previously by Yamazakura as a sergeant’s example.
Mounts: The most distinctive feature is the scabbard fitted with two suspension rings rather than the more usual single-ring arrangement encountered on many Japanese police sidearms.
Identification: The police-sergeant classification is retained from the earlier Yamazakura catalogue. No documentary service provenance, individual owner or precise issue date is presently recorded, and those points are therefore not asserted here.
Condition: Please refer closely to the photographs for the surviving finish and condition of the blade, hilt and scabbard fittings.
An unusual variant within Japanese police and official sidearms, particularly interesting for its twin-ring suspension configuration.
