Japanese Copper Vase in Bamboo Form

£40.00

Japanese copper vase modelled in the form of bamboo.

The vessel uses the segmented form and surface character of bamboo as its principal decorative device, translating a familiar natural motif into metalwork. Its restrained design makes it suitable both as a small flower vase and as a standalone decorative object.

The earlier Yamazakura catalogue described the piece as Meiji period. That dating is retained here as the previous catalogue attribution rather than a firm date, as no maker's mark or independent dating evidence is presently recorded.
