Japanese yosegaki hinomaru, a national flag bearing handwritten inscriptions.

The earlier Yamazakura catalogue described this example as a naval flag associated with the 16th Yokaren class. That specific association has not been independently verified here and is therefore recorded as previous catalogue information rather than stated as established provenance.

The inscriptions themselves are the appropriate basis for any firmer identification of recipient, group or period, and no kamikaze association is claimed without supporting evidence.
