Japanese cast-bronze tea utensil accompanied by its fitted wooden box.

A compact bronze vessel associated in the earlier Yamazakura catalogue with the tea tradition. The piece has a restrained form and is accompanied by an inscribed wooden storage box, an important part of the ensemble.

The previous catalogue recorded a Kyoto tea-master association and read an inscription as “Jyomei”. These details have not been independently verified and are therefore preserved as earlier catalogue information rather than stated as provenance or a firm maker attribution.

Approximate dimensions: 90 mm high × 100 mm diameter.
