A lovely simply mounted yari in a red koshirae.

The yoroi-dōshi is generally an extra thick tanto , but in a number of cases a yari ( spear head ) was used , as in this item .  They appeared in the Sengoku period of the 14th and 15th centuries.The yoroi-dōshi was made for piercing armour and for stabbing while grappling in close quarters.
