Pair of Japanese kote (armoured sleeves), mounted together in a black display frame.
The sleeves incorporate traditional armour construction and bear a kamon (family crest), together with fittings described in the earlier Yamazakura catalogue as butterfly-form hinges. The previous listing attributed the pair to the Edo period; that dating is retained here as the earlier catalogue attribution rather than presented as independently verified.
The framing allows the armour to be displayed while preserving the pair as a coherent group. No specific armourer, school or family provenance is asserted from the kamon alone.
Please examine the photographs carefully for construction, surface condition, textile wear and the condition of the display mounting.
