Japanese Karimata Forked Arrowhead, Framed

£250.00

Japanese karimata, a distinctive forked form of arrowhead, presented in a display frame.

Karimata are characterised by their deeply divided, crescent-like or V-shaped head. They are sometimes described in Western collecting terminology as “rope-cutter” arrowheads, although that description should not be taken as proof of the original function of this individual example.

This is a comparatively large example. The present mounting allows the frame to be displayed horizontally or vertically.

No smith, school or date attribution is asserted from the present catalogue information. The object and its condition are shown in the accompanying photographs.
