The earlier Yamazakura catalogue described the tassel as original to the sword; this is retained as previous catalogue information rather than independently verified provenance.

Condition: two creases are recorded in the saya, and there is a poor earlier repair to the locking guard. These points are visible in the photographs and should be considered part of the object's condition.
