Object: Japanese shin-gunto military sword retaining a wooden surrender/identification tag.

The tag is the most significant documentary feature of this example. The earlier Yamazakura catalogue identified it with a Japanese engineering officer connected with the Burma–Thailand railway and noted that the tag had been discussed or identified with reference to Richard Fuller’s published work.

Provenance note: The specific River Kwai / railway association is retained here as the earlier catalogue identification, not elevated to independently verified provenance.
